Barely Biographic
I am a 2nd year PhD student in Clemson University’s Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design program. I’m originally from Atlanta, GA. I have a MA in Literary Studies from Georgia State University, and a BA in English from the College of Charleston. I’ve been in school continuously since 1st grade (really before that, I suppose, if you count pre-school), and people always wonder “how I do it.” I wonder how people who go *back* to school do it.
I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Maybe that’s the heart of how I do it. I don’t know anything else, except one summer (so far) of corporate work and several years of retail sales clerk-ery.
This blog is a hybrid of personal and professional worlds. For me, the two are too synonymous to be separated. Except for the summer of corporate work, I “work” all the time. When there’s nothing to do, I feel like flotsam. Drifting. And I need my grund-ing [sic]. Just as much as I need the occasional ab-grunding.
So here I am. Coming at this from the future’s past.
